Disney Princesses have been around for decades and remain attractive characters. What’s not to like?

Regardless of the drawbacks to their character, the role of Disney Princesses have progressed, from the helpless Snow White to the powerful Elsa. Nowadays it is nearly impossible to feature a weak female protagonist.

We shall see whether the strong female characters also sells dolls. Sales of Mulan and Pocahontas, both strong characters, have lagged those of the Golden Age Disney Princesses. We shall see whether that trend changes with Elsa.
